Open House!

At long last, the open house pictures are here! :)  Thank you so much to all of you who were able to attend our Open House on March 10th.  The boys and girls worked so hard the weeks leading up to open house and were so excited for your visit!  Thank you for taking the time to attend our special event and allow your favorite first grader to show off all of his or her amazing work!!!  Be sure to check back later this week when we will be posting our slide show from that evening as well!
Ready for the big night!

Watchdogs!

We are so lucky to have another dad from our class who served as an Anderson watchdog before spring break!  Thank you so much, Mr. Vanacour, for taking the time to serve our school!  We loved having you visit our school and our class!!!

Principal's Math Club!

Congratulations to Rahul and Max for becoming members of Mrs. Jackson's principal's math club!  In order to become a member of the math club, the boys and girls must learn all of their addition facts to sums of 18.  Students must be able to answer each fact instantly and accurately!  Way to go boys!  This is a challenging goal!  I am so proud of you for your hard work!

Good job, boys!  Congratulations!

Dallas World Aquarium

Our trip to the aquarium was a HUGE success!!!  The boys and girls had an incredible time observing all of the creatures we have been studying throughout our ocean unit.  Thank you so very much to all of our wonderful moms and dads who attended the trip with us, Mr. Tegene, Mrs. Bayon, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Bennison, Mr. Larsen, Mr. Harwell, Mrs. VanSpanje, Mrs. Vanacour, and Mrs. Rajendran.  Your help is greatly appreciated and makes trips such as these possible!

After a long drive, we are here at last! :)

Looking forward to seeing all the animals!

Believe it or not, this is a sloth!  Right out there in the open!  Of course, it is perfectly safe because he just wants to sleep!

CROCODILE!!!  (He was HUGE!)

Checking out the fish, and some stingrays!

Watching the monkeys!

An octopus!!!

With mom, checking out the tanks of sea creatures!:)

Believe it or not, this is actually a special type of clownfish.  So we learned that not all clownfish look like Nemo!  If you look closely, you can see this little clownfish snuggling down in his sea anenome!

NEMO!!!

Checking out the penguins!  I think they were waiting for the boys to throw them a treat!

A Kodak moment in front of the shark tank :)
Brave Xavier getting up close and personal with the sharks!

These little scientists take our ocean research very seriously :)

Having a great time together!

What fun our trip has been!

Don't worry...these little "scientists" aren't really in the tank, but I bet they had you fooled! :)

Happy faces as we wrap up our visit!

Posing by the jellyfish!  Watch out, Leo...I see a jellyfish coming near!

Worn out after our big day!!!!!
