American Symbols!

This week we have been researching American symbols as a part of our Social Studies unit!  Yesterday we went to the library to practice researching with the I-touches using QR codes.  The boys and girls had a great time using technology to learn about our nation's symbols.  Thank you for making our learning so fun, Mrs. Littlejohn!  Stay tuned for photos of our finished American symbols booklets...

Happy Fall!

Can you believe how quickly this year is flying by????  I can't believe this Friday marks the end of the first nine weeks.  Be sure to watch your child's HOT binder next week for his/her report card.  Also, please note that 2nd grade will be performing a musical at the PTA meeting on Monday, November 7th.  More information will be coming regarding the time and any additional details.  Please keep watching our blog.  I will be using it to post photos of exciting events, activities, and lessons in our classroom this year!  It's a great way to feel like you are a part of all the action!

Vocabulary Parade!

Last Friday we celebrated our 2nd annual vocabulary parade!  The boys and girls school-wide dressed up as a word of their choice and we paraded around Anderson to show off our vocabulary! :)  Unfortunately, I was out that day and missed the festivities, but I am so impressed by the costumes I have seen in the photos!  Thank you so much for taking the time to help your little one choose a word and prepare his or her costume!  I appreciate your support of our fun learning activities at home!  A special thank you to the Bayon and Larsen families for sharing your photos with us.  Please feel free to send any photos you may have from the parade and I will gladly upload them to our blog! :)

Mother's Day "Poet-tea"

We recently celebrated our fabulous moms by having a special Mother's Day "Poet-tea".  The boys and girls worked especially hard preparing poems about mom to share with her in honor of her special day.  Our moms then joined us for some "wild" snacks and we shared our work with them.  It was such a special time with our moms!  We are thankful for all of our moms and appreciate all you do for us!  Happy Mother's Day!
